## Description

The On Stage Universal 2nd Tier keyboard stand attachment can be inserted into most X-style keyboard stands with round or square tubing. Then, a tightening knob expands the internal locking mechanism that secures the 2nd tier into position. A midpoint clutch featuring two disks with 36 inter-locking teeth lets you tilt the second tier to any position without worrying about slippage. The clutch is made with die-cast zinc adding strength to its grip on the user’s costly gear. An included stabilizer bar keeps the left and right tier members upright when it is properly assembled between the two members. An included telescoping stabilizer bar keeps the left and right tiers upright, it also adjusts the width with the 2nd tier.

Review: Well made stable and easy to assemble. I used it on tubular rock jam stand which has 25mm tube. The expanding clamp fits easily into the tubular frame and expands to hold firm. Assemble as in the picture on the product with upright angle tighteners on the outside. The cross bar only fits one way thick tube to the right, players view, and adjustable extension to the left.
Review: After looking to replace my 2-tiered stand with a 3-tiered stand and realizing that I was definitely going to lose money doing that, I just happened upon this product. It's On Stage and my stand is actually QuikLok, so I wasn't totally sure if it would work. Plus universal equipment, in my experience, has been universally bad at replicating the quality of a dedicated product. I was very pleasantly surprised though! This extra tier fits very tightly and is extremely sturdy. I saw some bad reviews from people who said it collapsed, but I don't know how that could happen unless the whole stand collapsed or they greatly exceeded the weight limits. It's actually MORE sturdy than the second tier on my stand. And here's the MAJOR benefit: I actually have two 2-tiered stands and a 1-tier stand, all from different manufacturers, and this fits on all 3! That means I can have any configuration of tiers that works for my current setup. This is some of the best money I've spent in a long time. I highly recommend this universal extra tier. WARNING: I ordered two of these and was just about to order a 3rd, when I started looking at the reviews again. As I read them, I realized that there are two different models, and I actually have one of each. I never noticed this because one is on a Z stand and one is on an X stand. It seems that On-Stage, maybe after all the bad reviews, updated their item and kept the same model number. I believe desertcart's photo is of the older version, where the posts connect to the back of the keyboard arms (and probably where the complaints about rust and broken welds come from). The new models connect the posts in the MIDDLE of the keyboard arms (see my photo from another seller). This gives a different experience when it comes to adjusting and how far away the new tier is from the player. I have the back connector on the Z stand and the middle connector on the X stand and that works. If I switch them, the Z stand works okay with the mid connector (a little far away), but the X stand with the back connector does not work at all. The third tier hangs out further than the second, basically in line with tier 1. I still love these. Mine work great in my studio with no problems at all. I'm not sure if I'm going to order my 3rd one from desertcart though since I have no idea what I'll get.

**Q: Is this compatible with a platform / table style keyboard stand?**
A: This second tier attaches via pipes on a primary stand that are perpendicular to the orientation of the keyboards themselves. So it's designed to fit into the pipes of typical folding "X" stands. Most table style stands I've seen do not have open pipes in the middle, in the the back, and perpendicular to the keyboard orientation.

**Q: To clarify my previous question:  can this small enough to fit a keyboard at 17.5” if the stand supporting the keyboard is set to 25”?**
A: If you do not use the adjustable support bar, you can tilt the brackets together to accomodate a very small keyboard. However, make sure the brackets are sufficiently tight.

**Q: Is this small enough to support a 25 key Novation Bass Station?**
A: I don't think it can adjust to be narrow enough for a 25-key synth. My creative solution for a 25-key Roland synth was to buy an 8" deep black Melamine shelf wide enough to stretch across the second tier arms. Granted, this works in the studio, but may not be the right solution for touring with an extra shelf to carry.

**Q: Can you use 2 of these together. 1 for the 2nd tier then the other for the 3rd tier?**
A: I use this as a second tier only. This unit is not very well made  I have had to but extra cross bars as backups. If you plan to stack 3 sets of keys spend a little more and get a 3 tier stand that is more solid and can better handle the weight and stress

After looking to replace my 2-tiered stand with a 3-tiered stand and realizing that I was definitely going to lose money doing that, I just happened upon this product. It's On Stage and my stand is actually QuikLok, so I wasn't totally sure if it would work. Plus universal equipment, in my experience, has been universally bad at replicating the quality of a dedicated product. I was very pleasantly surprised though! This extra tier fits very tightly and is extremely sturdy. I saw some bad reviews from people who said it collapsed, but I don't know how that could happen unless the whole stand collapsed or they greatly exceeded the weight limits. It's actually MORE sturdy than the second tier on my stand. And here's the MAJOR benefit: I actually have two 2-tiered stands and a 1-tier stand, all from different manufacturers, and this fits on all 3! Fantastico 2do nivel para teclado, lo use en mi base Hercules KS-120B, por lo que no tuvo problemas en adaptarse, hay que aprender un poco a acomodar bien el nivel para que no quede "levantado" o de lado, pero nada dificil, con un poco de práctica se logra quedar perfecto, es muy resistente y duradero veo que sin problema aguantara muchos años en ambientes duros, no hay ningun pero en comprarlo para los que estan dudando sin duda quedaran satisfechos como yo de la compra. me llego rápido, pague en OXXO.
