Do I need to purchase a special battery or a transmitter?** A: Everything you need is include. The transmitter takes 1 9V battery, the car takes 4 AA batteries and the starter motor uses a rechargable NiMH battery included with the kit. This car is awesome but I ruined the first engine because I didn't follow the proper breakin procedure.Find a large parking lot and follow the breakin instructions perfectly. Squeeze the throttle gently for the first 10 runs and do not run at wide open throttle until the engine is completely broken in.
