Product shipped did not match Amazon's description I used to make my purchase decision.
The product description was for a 2-pack combination Smoke and CO detector, UL listed. When I received the product it contained two units, but they were CO detectors only. The packaging and the instructions pamphlet only described the CO feature. Also, their is no documentation that this product is UL listed as the online description indicated.

Not UL certified
Amazon's product description states that this unit complies with UL 217/2034. I took this to mean that the unit is UL certified but, apparently, I was wrong. The UL certification is a primary reason for purchase, however, the unit has no UL certification indicated on it. It does indicate that it is CE certified. This means that the product meets the legal requirements for certification in the Euroopean Union so it can be marketed and sold in Europe. It is not the same as UL certification for the United States. My local fire department inspector will not accept without the UL certification and it will not pass inspection in my town. This leads me to wonder if this will also be an issue with my insurrance carrier. I cannot say anything about the product itself since I did not install but you have to ask yourself why the product description implied it is UL certified. I will be returning for a unit that specifically indicates UL certification on the product itself.

Furnace exhaust leak?
A couple of years ago, I discovered and repaired a furnace exhaust leak that I would not have known about if the carbon monoxide detector in my basement hadn't sounded a couple of times. The first time, I thought the detector was misfiring. I got the message when it went off again. Might have saved our lives.Note: The Amazon overview says it can be installed in the "parking garage". The inbox overview advises against it.I installed one in my basement for reasons described above and listed as suitable, and one in the garage. I'll update this review if I run into false alarms.

Excellent Combination Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector Alarm
These are small and very discreet smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. They test well and are very audible. I believe they would be great to take along your travels and would be an added safety item when vacationing as the small size would allow them to be packed neatly. As I replace older units I will choose these alarms because I was pleased with the product.

Combination of Smoke and Carbon monoxide detectors are so important
I appreciated the quick delivery of the smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. The value was excellent, as stores had this item for much more. If you bought them separately, it was much more expensive.Batteries did not come with this product, so I do not know about battery life. It was very easy to install, screws and caps were included.
