It truly is compression and flattens you out. I was afraid it might hurt at the straps or legs but no complaints after two hours in it. Will see as time passes how it holds up. Will likely get a size bigger for an additional suit. Read the product description to research before buying. My kid is joining a competitive swim team and it’s what she needed for training. This isn’t a leisure suit and doesn’t have breast pads or any of the access that will slow down a competitive swimmer. This may not be what you’re looking for but if it is, size up like a lot. Sizing up twice for us was barely fitting. Will update as use increases. After one use, one wash, and no dryer, color seems intact. She’s a bit modest but seemed comfortable in its coverage.
