They measure 2 inches long and are sharper than any straight pins I have used. Good thickness will not bend and are easy to grip. Yes you can iron over top of them. These straight pins are more expensive, but the quality makes them a great value for your money. Received within a week as promised. I have put all of my other straight pins up and use only these they are that good.

**Q: Can you sew over these pins with a sewing machine when doing a sewing project? Thank you**
A: These pins are nice and fine, but I would never sew over any pins. I’ve seen it too many times where the needle comes down on the pin and breaks and parts of the needle go flying. I wouldn’t chance it.

**Q: Are these magnetic?**
A: So, needles, in general are not magnetic. They are metal that will stick to a magnetic surface. Sometimes a needle or scissors will become magnetized, but they're not made that way. There's no need. Lol.

These are wonderful pins. The length is great, just the correct size for a quilting or piecing pin. It has a grip top on the head of the pin. These were a more pricy than the normal ones but after receiving them they are worth it.
