A: 1. First, you need to install 3 [AA batteries];
2. The switch at one end of the battery box controls the three modes of "OFF"/"FLASH"/ and "ON";
3. "ON" for the steady mode, and "FLASH" for the flashing mode.

**Q: Will these work with rechargeable batteries**
A: They are used with 1.5V AA batteries

**Q: how do i open the battery box?**
A: Use your thumb and forefinger to pinch on both sides of the power box and pull out.

To turn off the power box is also to pinch both sides and push inward.

Be careful not to press the power supply with your thumb and push it out from the front, which may damage the power box

**Q: are these suitable for outdoor use please**
A: They are driven by AAA batteries, so they are widely used in many indoor and outdoor environments, but you need to be aware that they are NOT waterproof.
