I also do not dye my hair and it is medium brown with grey hairs scattered all over and a concentration of grey at temples and neckline. The shampoo softens the tone of the grey hair (especially at the temples/neckline) to make it appear tinged with a light brown rather than the stark grey. I plan on letting my hair grey naturally and the Coffee and Cloves is helping me slide into it more slowly, gracefully keeping the emphasis on the brown as long as possible. FYI also: we are reformulating our Coffee & Cloves conditioner to include coffee infused with black walnut powder. We anticipate that this will help enhance the brown while shading the grey. It should more greatly enhance the brunette aspects and minimize the grey. **Q: Does this shampoo get rid of or cover red undertones?** A: It does give a nice slightly darker tint to the hair but not enough to cover to cover to red overtones. It is not a rinse that would help with that. If the overtones are from a color treatment you had, you might want to see a professional to get a chemical treatment with temp color treatment. **Q: I don't dye my hair & it's almost tottally white on the top. If I don't like the shading th shampoo deposits, will it wash out with another shampoo?** A: It is not permanent. It is subtle and is enhanced and maintained with continued use . I would suggest though that you try just a small area of your hair and see the effect. Plan to update in the near future. Meanwhile, so far I am very pleased. The scent IS strong but pleasant and fades away fast enough not to interfere with your perfume. The first time use my hair felt really nice and did soften my gray/white/silver locks. The conditioner is great which I leave in and use on alternate days before combing in place. It gives my white hair on top a brownish hue which is what my aim was and hopefully nourish my thinning hair. I do use an Argan oil based spray to blow out (only when I shampoo) and mix a few gels to 'set' curls to stay and add volume. My hair looks healthy and upon continuance of usage, will pst update results on growth, thickening or darkening of color. I think it reasonably priced and noticed that in comparison to some other comparable products and more costly, it doesn't contain more than one PEG (conditioner) or most non recommended ingredients.Update 2/1/17: I believe it's working. I have sprouted new hairs at the crown line and very much like the soft brownish tint it gives to my gray/white hairs (especially the conditioner). My dark brown hair in back is darker and spreading. I am going to start taking Zinc to help it along (warning: do not take more than 50mg and a not so bad side effect can be increased libido). My mom is so impressed she wants me to order it for her, if only to stem hair loss - she dyes it. It looks so shinny and healthy. I don't think any given product will 'fit' everyone, but it has for me.
