Alton Bay Bamboo Extra Large Cutting Carving Chopping Board

I love this board. It is of decent size, thick, very sturdy, and well made. I bought it at $25.xx almost one year ago and thought it was a great deal for its quality. Now it is only $19.xx so go ahead and buy it if you need a cutting board. I usually don't bother the time to write a review unless it is really a good product.

Wonderful, sturdy, well-made bamboo cutting board. If you are looking for a good, large cutting board, this is it. I took off one star because it does have a strong "unusual" smell (I believe it's just the bamboo "smell") that does gradually lessen, but the quality of this product considerably outweighs the smell.

I saw the excellent reviews on Amazon for this product and the great price. It arrived in time for Thanksgiving and received instant use with my turkeys and other meals over the weekend. It replaced a plastic cutting board that was too small and often slipping around on the counter. The bamboo one has heft to it and large enough for whatever you're cutting. The channel along the outside keeps juices from dripping on the counter. Cleaned up great.

Very nice board just as described on Amazon. Just the right size for my needs. I really like that it is somewhat long compared to the width. It is a beautiful color and very flat (so far). I also like that it is not too thick so it's lighter than my other cutting boards and easier to maneuver for washing.

I bought this cutting board to put on the counter height shelf of the Celtic Baker's rack that I bought from Amazon (Southern Enterprises). The size was just perfect and the board had a smooth surface on one side which made it perfect for a shelf for my toaster. The wood is attractive and the quality of the board is excellent.

A good cutting board is essential in any kitchen. This is a very good cutting board. It cleans up easily, and stores out of the way in my kitchen. I would recommend this board to anyone.

I recently splurged and got a great deal on a Zwilling J.A. Henckels Twin Four Star 7" Santoku Knife With Board Set. It was offered at less than 50% of retail and I couldn't turn it down. However, it was obvious when the package arrived that the knife was everything I was looking for but the cutting board was much smaller than I wanted. So I went shopping for a larger cutting board on Amazon and came up with this Extra Large Bamboo Cutting Board with drip groove.Most of my cutting is slicing sweet potatoes in thin pieces for dehydrating as treats for our dogs. The knife is highly rated for "root vegetables" and now I can see why. I always hedge my bets by precooking the sweet potatoes long enough to soften them somewhat, making them far easier to slice. The combination of precooking and using my new Santoku has really taken a lot of work out of the process.The large bamboo cutting surface also works extremely well for carving up bloody meats. The drip grooves on the outer edges trap excess blood and water making for an easy clean up. No special treatment for the cutting board is required, just hand wash it and set it aside to dry. J.A. Henckels recommends that you use a wood/bamboo cutting board to help preserve the knife's edge. Cutting directly on a counter top made of granite/marble/cement will eventually damage the blade.So I'm very happy to have found this product. The knife and cutting board combo really help me to tackle what has always been a time consuming and labor intensive task. It's almost like the blade and board were made for each other.
