This overflow then trickled into the toilet bowl wasting water and making a noise. I was initially skeptical about this replacement piece working as it didn't look like the rubber diaphragm I took out of my cistern. My existing diaphragm had a red piece in the top and was ribbed all the way around. But I thought, for Β£3.99, it was worth a go. This diaphragm arrived in good time, was easy to fit and worked perfectly.
