It does make a very loose messy curl but is nothing short of a pain in the butt to use. You have to make sure the hair is going in the right direction, then twirl it all while trying to keep the flat iron closed when it wants to be open, and be pulling from root to tip. Not easy and if too much effort is added the curl just gets worse and kinked or slips out. The quality is not great, the plates are not seemless and pulled a small chunk of hair out. This thing S-U-C-K-S...sucks!!! Wish I could return it but I’m outside the window AND the paint on the outside of the curling iron started to wear off upon my first use (ugh!) the iron is confusing to use, just when you think you have the hang of it, it straightens you’re hair. Sure it maybe a bit if user error...but it’s definitely not as easy as they make it sound/look. Even after watching numerous videos on how to do it... I have Better luck with a completely straight iron. On top of this, the plates don’t feel ceramic and you can tell the device is burning your hair as you try to curl it. I’ve given the curler about 10+ goes and haven’t liked my hair once. If you’re trying to decide between this and a pricey one, I’d say you get what you pay for.
