These are not very bright, even new. These sound so good fresh you can play gigs and not have to wait for them to mellow. I love the β€˜45s as well, they have a touch more top end but super similar. The β€˜66s are super deep. You can obtain flat string sounds and killer round tones. β€˜66s are killer, I’ll probably stick with these for quite sometime. Playing some other competitor strings, that cost more, did not work out.
