I don't think I would recommend this to others, unless you are buying it as a throwaway unit. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Yaaay - I FIRED my Podiatrist!! *by C***O on Reviewed in the United States on August 4, 2016* I am SO happy with this gadget, much more satisfied than I thought I might be. I'm using it for callouses, not just dry or flaky skin. These are persistent and VERY painful callouses on the balls of both feet that have plagued me since my teens. I suffer from a hereditary insufficiency of "fat pad" on my feet. (I wish I could say the same for my waistline!) A pumice stone would take HOURS of painful rubbing to make a difference; I know this because I tried it. For decades I pared these callouses off myself with a single-edged razor blade, despite the very sensible warnings that this is DANGEROUS. I agree, but it worked. It's exactly what the podiatrists do, except of course their equipment is professionally sterilized and they carry liability insurance. Technically, I'm supposed to visit a podiatrist every 6 weeks to have these removed with a scalpel and bandaged-up with antibiotic ointments. No thanks, I can't afford it!!How I wish I had discovered this device years ago! Once a week I sit in front of the TV for a 15 minute session that grinds these awful callouses down to practically nothing. Here's my system: I sit with one leg up on the opposite knee and dangle my foot over a large, empty cardboard box. This is critical, as the machine turns your dead skin into a fine powder that MUST be controlled somehow. I follow the included instructions to not hold the grinder in one place for more than a few seconds. A few minutes of light, gentle pressure on the calloused areas while keeping the device moving around does the trick. BIG PLUSES: The two batteries provide many hours of use. The little brush works perfectly to keep the unit clean. The box is usefully designed to be a permanent storage container. The spare roller won't be needed until after many hours of use. The noise level is tolerable - it won't awaken the family. The unit is very comfortable to hold. It's virtually impossible to cut yourself.I highly recommend this device. And there's no bribery in my review: I paid full price and will gladly do so again if this one ever wears out! ### ⭐⭐ 2.0 out of 5 stars flawed *by D***R on Reviewed in the United States on July 28, 2015* The first "Durable" roller head was worn out after my first use of the product. Also two brand new batteries had become worthless. That said, I did use the device for about 20 minutes and I was pleased with the results. It just seems like a mistake to design a product which uses up batteries so quickly and does not make more than 2 roller heads available. There are no replacement roller heads available either so unless my second use completely solves my foot issues I will have to buy a new device to finish the job.
