My older decks of Bicycle cards seem to be a bit thicker, but obviously have a different finish. I have one newer Bicycle card deck (Stargazer), which is comparable in thickness to this deck. **Q: are these cards paper or have a coating?** A: They are coated paper like any Bicycle deck **Q: Is this just a celebration of mythology, or does it refer to a specific book or video game?** A: I bought these and assumed a celebration of faerie like creatures.
