That does not take away at all from this juicer which works just fine. Before I cut the fruit to juice it, I roll it on the countertop to soften it and release the juice inside the fruit. Even with doing that, it STILL takes a lot of strength to juice a piece of fruit. The strainer part works well in keeping the pulp and seeds out of the juice - you can always add the pulp back into the juice if you want. The stainless steel is not a heavy grade, but it is heavy enough.
