However the wood type, age and condition can all have an effect on uptake. dry silvered wood for example is likely to absorb more oil; than a fresh new wood. Soft wood more than hardwood and so test areas are always recommende. I've been told the non-slip quality is achieved by adding grit, but I don't want it to feel gritty.** A: We haven’t added anything to the decking after painting it with the anti slipping oil and it is very good. Where it was slippery in wet weather it is no longer a problem. We have found it an excellent product. **Q: Do I need to coat with osmo decking oil and finish with the anti slip decking oil** A: Can use any good oil then finish with antislip. Very pleased with both the appearance which has enhanced the natural wood appearance and definitely anti slip. Worth the money. Easy enough with a brush not a roller though, to ensure went into the grooves.
