Review: Good Solid Weight Bar - Over the years, between a couple of moves and loaning things out, my once complete weight set purchased in the mid 80s, has dwindled down to a few bits and pieces. And while I still have the curling and dumbbell bars as well as some of the plates, the straight barbell bar necessary for many other types of exercises went missing some years ago. As I have not done any lifting for some time, other than some light dumbbell exercises, this wasn't an issue until I recently decided to start in again to help tone up an aging physique. This Sunny Health & Fitness 60 inch bar fits my needs perfectly. The fact that it is shorter than a typical 6 or 7 foot weight bar is actually a plus for me, as I am using it indoors in my "man-cave" where I have my TV, stereo equipment, and a number of bookcases filled with CDs and DVDs. I purposely wanted a shorter bar so there might be less chance of unintentionally banging into things about the place. And since my days of being able to bench 300 plus pounds are but a distant memory, any amount of weight I will be using will fit quite easily and safely onto this shorter bar (which I believe has a 250 pound limit). The threaded star locks do need to be re-tightened every so often to keep the plates snug, but I feel this is an acceptable trade-off for the security of having the plates held on by at least several inches of threaded rod, rather than just a clamp. An extra plus is that the star locks from my old curling bar fit this new bar as well, should I wish to double up. Of course, spinning the lock collars off and on is a bit more time consuming as well, but since I do not change weights frequently, this presents no problem for me. With approximately a 37 inch span between the inner plate stops, I am able to adjust my grip width to pretty much whatever I need. This is a solid one piece weight bar for use with 1 inch plates (NOT 2 inch Olympic plates). It seems to be of good quality, and priced fairly in these days of soaring costs for exercise equipment. It arrived well packed and shrink wrapped inside a long rectangular package, with no assembly required, other than spinning the star locks off, adding some weights, and spinning the locks back on. And you're ready to go. I'm certain there are probably better bars out there. But if you are looking for a good value in something safe and solid to utilize with a moderate amount of weight, this is an ideal choice. Recommended.
Review: So Satisfied!! Can’t beat this price anywhere! - Wow! What a deal!! I’m a fitness enthusiast and have turned to Sunny Health and Fitness on numerous occasions when I need a lotta bang for my buck! I sold my dumpy weight bar on Craigslist that was 60” and about 2oz. Purchased this. As you are looking for one this is 60” not Olympic bar size you’d have at the gym. But as a 5’7 woman I find this bar very comfortable for my weight lifting at home. My husband also uses it with no complaints. So keep in mind it is smaller that your gym size bar which you can also buy on desertcart but think of price difference and house size where this may be a nicer option. I have never had threaded edges so that’s exciting to add to this bar as well! So far I have no cons, if I find some I will add to my review. Pros: • Packaging was EXCELLENT! Foam bloke around 3 parts to protect, plastic wrapping, cardboard corners in addition to a cardboard box with plastic ties around it. • Weighted for extra resistance • diamond texture for grip • Attractive star ends to keep weights from going across the whole bar vs the normal metal raised lump. It also prevents the bar from rolling across your floor which is helpful if you have hard floors and young children. • threaded ends to keep weights on better Bar is 1” so I bought specific 1” weight clamps for $6 Overall I highly recommend this bar to anyone adding to a home gym whether new to fitness or long time enthusiast. Can’t beat this price, even on Craigslist. Very satisfied I DIDN’T know this, but you do NOT need weight clamps too since the spiral ring twists on and really locks the weight. I’ve uploaded a video to show you. If you found this helpful please click helpful, I’d greatly appreciate it!!! :) <3

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does anyone know the weight capacity for this barbell bar?**
A: I have not gone past 250 for benching but I have squatted 280 and deadlifted 315 no problem on the bar

**Q: Can anyone tell me what the maximum grip width is on this bar. In other words what it the distance between two outter narrled edges where you grip.**
A: 37 inches.

**Q: need collars**
A: Comes with threaded collars. Note this is not standard "1inch" thread. Standard is about 1/4" thicker. I.e. if you have "standard 1inch weights/clips" they will be loose. For the weights not a big deal. Ironically standard 1" is actually 1.25" but they measure the diameter of the inside of the threads which is 1", and the threads add another 1/4" so 1.25" diameter total. This measures to the outside of the threads and its 1" exactly.

**Q: Is this a true 1 inch in diameter bar or is it slightly smaller?**
A: Yeah. It fits my 1 inch diameter plates just right.
