If you don't pull the clip to lock the tube to the valve, it will let air out. I just had to do this for some over inflated car tyres. I've used it to inflate a tire which had a puncture and was about half its recommended pressure. It coped easily and inflated to correct pressure in a matter of minutes. I like the fact that you can insert the pressure you want, press thr trigger and it carries on inflating and stops when the pressure is reached. It charges through a USB connection and requires a 5v input so I use an old phone charger. I must admit I didn't realise it didn't come with a 3-pin plug but that maybe my fault for not reading the description properly. However it's not an issue. I just charge after every use, disconnect and put away. So the good parts for this cordless pump are it’s lightweight and easy to use. Balanced well in the hand with an lcd display that is clear and easy to set. It inflates the tyre quickly for its size and the accuracy of the pressure gauge is very repeatable making it easy to get the tyres the same pressure. Given now in most places it costs £1 each time to use a forecourt pump it won’t take long to break even. I haven’t used it to pump up any inflatable toys so can’t comment on that. The supplied pipes and accessories appear to be good quality and fit well without leaking. The only slight downside is the battery capacity is not massive -don’t get me wrong it will top your tyres up no problem a couple times. I found that it’s best to store it without the battery connected as it doesn’t have a physical on/off switch and will flatten the battery over time -this is the same for all cordless inflators etc and not a flaw with the pump. It has a little light on it and is just about sufficient to light up in the dark but nothing special.
