With the kids home because of the pandemic it certainly is the center of our entertainment. We have it 10 feet away and have very large 10 feet wide picture. It has made connections only missing a USB C. With 2 HDMI connections we can leave the XBOX connected and add on devices. Living room is pretty dark to begin with but even the curtains open there isn't any problem. The speaker is okay not enough for our taste though. We are using aux cable to connect an old Sony CD player speakers for better audio. It is enough to do the trick. We did go a little bit above our budget but it was so much worth. It's an awesome projector from an awesome company. ViewSonic projectors is what I have been using. (701-4k, px700hd, m2) I really like them all but this one just wasn't suitable for bedroom due to heat output. I still recommend ViewSonic projectors.
