Firmness is certainly in the judgment of the user.My primary exercise with this product is standing on it to work on balance, coordination and core strength. I need and expected a very firm half roller, and found that it compresses too much under my 185 pounds, making it too easy to balance and thus eliminating some of the purpose of using the roller. I use a half roller in physical therapy that doesn't compress at all, and that was what I was hoping to buy.So if you have some heft and are looking for a truly firm half roller, this is not the best product. Serviceable, but not great. I'm guessing though that if you're a 100-pounder, this might work pretty well. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I really like the Foam Roller *by D***P on Reviewed in the United States on September 11, 2014* I really like the Foam Roller, I use it in my Physical Therapy class and it really helps pull the shoulders and relives the pain in the shoulder from my Shoulder Manipulation surgery I had.
