It comes in a plastic sheath that I would recommend keeping it in as long as possible. The first time I took it off (when I gave it to him), the cover got dirty and I was unable to clean it. That's a problem with going with flat black I guess. Otherwise, the quality of it is very nice. The satin ribbon down the front adds a nice classy look.
