The print is large and easy to read. The text is the same as the latest edition of the Nestle-Aland critical edition of the Greek New Testament. The textual apparatus is minimal. A student who is interested in textual criticism would be better served with the Nestle-Aland edition of the Greek text. However, for a student who is simply interested in learning to read the Greek New Testament (the critical edition, that is), this book has an excellent feature to facilitate reading. A running dictionary on each page defines each word that occurs less than 30 times or less in the Greek text. An appendix contains all the Greek words that occur over 30 times. Taken together, these lists of words give convenient access to English translations of the Greek. The student must still have a working knowledge of grammar. The book merely gives person, number, tense, voice, and mood for each verb, and the nominative and genitive singular of each noun. I bought a set of these to use with my eighth grade students, to whom I am teaching koine Greek. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great, but... *by J***N on December 28, 2019* Great book, but they 1) changed the reading of Jude 5 from kurios to Iasous, contrary to what the UBS Committee majority decided, as recorded in A Textual Commentary on the Greek New Testament and 2) they have an apparent typo, presenting the body text of Jude 5 as Iasos instead of Iasous. Still, great book, even though I disagree with some of the variant choices included in the body text.The reviewers giving negative reviews because it doesn’t have an English translation don’t understand what this is. It isn’t supposed to have an English translation and it is unfair to give this book ONE STAR for such a great resource. I am giving it five stars instead of four to counter the unfair reviews. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best Greek Reader's Edition Yet *by R***Y on December 31, 2015* After using the Second Edition of the Reader's GNT by Zondervan for about 8 years, I decided to switch to the UBS 5 reader's edition, and it was well worth it. The text is easier to read due to a larger font, the paper is higher quality, and the margins are wider, allowing for any notes one might wish to make. The definitions at the bottom of the page are in block style rather than paragraph style, and they include verb parsing information as applicable. These are all improvements that are most welcome. One downside is the book is much larger, but it's worth the trade-off. One reviewer noted the absence of a bookmark ribbon, but my copy came with a ribbon, so perhaps they recently added that feature.
