Review: Perfect beach bag, especially lightweight and packable for air travel. - This bag worked wonderfully as a beach bag for our recent Florida trip. It is very lightweight and folds very compactly for traveling in a suitcase. Once expanded it is large! There are so many pockets for organization, and the wet pocket in the back is a huge plus if using as a beach bag. I was worried about the shoulder straps not being padded, but they ended up being quite comfortable! The shoulder straps are wide, and with the addition of the chest strap, I had zero problems loading this bag up and carrying it comfortably. This bag is absolute perfection in every way for what we needed it for. It's durable, too, and I know we will be using this for many years for our travel needs. I also think it would work well as a carry-on or personal item for plane travel unless you are carrying a laptop. There is no padded sleeve for protection, but since we were mainly using it as a beach bag, this was not a concern for us. Very happy with this bag!

**Q: Is this backpack waterproof?**
A: Back portion is waterproof, as my water shoes did not get anything else wet. I would say it’s water resistant, to a certain degree. Carried it during a rainstorm in the rainforest of Costa Rica near waterfalls & while things were damp from my backpack the items in my companion’s regular backpacks were soaked.

A: The backpack is a very good quality nylon. There is only single fabric for interior sections, no lining. It is opaque, not see-through fabric.
