They got muddy, but when done walking I found a big puddle and rinsed them a little to get most of the mud off. Changed into my spare pair in the car so my feet were dry and was set to go! For a $20-$25 shoe, they've lasted longer than shoes that I've spent $50 or more on! My first pair I bought lasted me a little over 6 months of EVERYDAY wear until I snagged the right shoe on a screw on a students stander, without that screw I would probably still be wearing them. My second pair has been going strong for 2 months and that's with hiking, mud, and ending up in the river a weekly thing. I get foot cramps easily and wanted something with more support. These lightweight shoes are great! They fit perfect and are not too heavy or tight. I was not sliding at all (slip resistant). Very comfortable to workout in and they do not slip off at all. True to size.
