I started reading this book to my daughter a couple months before starting potty training (at around 22 months), just to introduce the concept. Then, we would read the book when she sat on the potty. She memorized the lines and always had fun with it. We took a slow, gradual approach to potty training (i.e., did not do the 3-day weekend training) because we wanted to minimize stress and follow her pace. She has been fully potty-trained (daytime and nighttime since 2.5 years).
