Very high quality, versatile dry bags that will keep your items dry in extreme conditions
Far better than expected for the price. In fact, among the best I've had at any price point. High quality, durable product that is virtually guaranteed to keep contents dry if used correctly. These bags are made of heavy material and I'm impressed with the engineering and welding of seams. I did my best to force air out of a closed bag that was properly closed and could not. The purge valve is slightly different than other purge valves I've used. This version allows the user the option to remove air from the bag or to add air to the bag. By opening the top (remove thin, square cap), user can blow air into the opening to inflate the bag (one-way airflow into the bag, air won't exit back through this vent). This is ideal to make it more buoyant should the bag fall into water, or perhaps in an emergency provide some flotation capability--BUT, this would be a last resort as this is not the purpose of a dry bag and it shouldn't be considered an alternative flotation device. To remove air from a sealed bag (makes bag smaller and more compressed), twist the entire purge valve to the point of nearly removing it and then push on the bag and force air out of the opening made by loosening the purge mechanism. Once done, tighten the valve assembly to the bag and the bag will remain dry and less bulky with little or no air inside. Keep in mind that a compressed bag is virtually guaranteed to sink if it falls overboard, so I strongly recommend lashing any item to something if on the water or crossing water. I love the D ring attachment points on the 20L bag. Multiple options to tie down using these to include attachment of an included carrying strap. The 5L bag does not have these, but the loop made closing the 5L bag can be used to secure it to something with a strap or carabiner or multiple other options. The 20L bag has a belt loop like slit in the bottom to lace rope or straps through for another attachment option. The 20L has a clear window on one side that helps me quickly view what contents are within the bag. I place a post-it not with a list on the inside of the bag attached to the window to know what's in the bag before I open it. Saves time using multiple bags. The 5L add on bag is small and is a perfect addition to help protect smaller items from getting wet. Dry bags are not designed to be "submerged"; however, for the accidental immersion in water, you will likely not have water intrusion if the bag is sealed properly--increased depth and duration of submersion will increase the likelihood of water intrusion. Definitely roll the opening at least 3 times; I always use 4 rolls--this is the key to properly sealing any dry bag. Thus, don't stuff it so full that you cannot seal it properly, doing so will only increase the likelihood of water intrusion and thus defeat the purpose of a dry bag--20L volume is the max; best advice is to always stay under a bag's stated limits. These bags are made of heavy weight material and were thus a bit heavier than I expected, but also more durable than expected so it's a worth trade-off. I intend to get a few more in other colors for quicker identification of contents. As with many outdoor products, there are countless uses for items like this beyond dry storage...necessity as they say is the mother of invention.

Great value for a well made product.
These bags are a great value, I used them in my Jesse Luggage panniers on a 2k mile motorcycle trip. The ability to open the purge valve, roll down the top and then secure everything dry makes for quick work. The add'l 5L bags (I bought 2 sets) worked great to put shoes and quick gear that I strapped down to the lids of my panniers worked great for quick access, they worked great in the rain and all stayed dry as a bone. The small bags do not have purge valves but they don't really need them due to their small size. You can fit a pair of normal shoes and a couple other items in the 5L bags. These sacks remind me of the Sevylor raft I had as a kid, valve and all. The window is handy if you have two bags of the same color and wonder whats inside. For my application, the purge valve protrudes a bit more than I'd like and I needed to be careful placing them in and out of my panniers so as not to stress the seams, but they were not a problem. For the money and quality, so far I'm very impressed and have ordered the other two colors so I can pack all my stuff and have some color coding going for quick camp decisions. Very well made and worth the purchase.
