Crush cannot be read as a standalone novel. The reader must read “Blow” first.“Blow” certainly develops the passion between Logan and Elle, but “Crush” leads us into the consequences of Logan’s choice and possibly the end. Logan and Elle are caught in between a violent underworld and help law enforcements regain the reins of Boston. To the law enforcements they’re just pawns and a means to an end to what they really want, but there is one major player that has his own hidden agenda and Elle will be his end. He has no limit and if hurting an innocent child allows him to achieve his goal, then that is what he’ll do. There’s one code on the streets that he’s always lived by and that’s a life for a life. He’s ready to collect on his payments.Together Logan and Elle will have to fight everyone, even the unknown to stay alive. Alive for their future. Their love will need to be as strong as ever. This author did an astounding job in wrapping everything up. The game and writing was dark, and a suspenseful read with just the right amount of erotic romance when the character’s world was involved in such a violent world. ~Tempting Sexy Thoughts ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I dove right into this one *by S***W on Reviewed in the United States on November 20, 2015* Crush is one of those books that I tried so hard to finish reading in one sitting. I needed to find out if Logan and Elle got their happy-ever-after, but at the same time the suspense was killing me!This second book in the Tainted Love duet picks up full speed from the end of Blow and is not a fluffy love story. There were moments in the story line when I was surprised that it took the turns that it did. I wanted to know everything all at once with Michael and Lizzy yet at the same time I didn't want the story to end. I was angry that Logan's past had to come into play with everything too. The parts of it that still haunted him broke my heart. And the same thing with Elle too. As she could get closer to Logan, she let fear get in the way, and I would curse at my Kindle each time.When they would be together, the friendship and the love scenes between the two of them... chemistry, chemistry, chemistry. As the world around them kept them apart, they were drawn to each other and needed to be together. This added so much more to the suspense as I wanted them together sooner, but wanted Elle safe, and to find out what happened to her sister. I needed answers about the other gang members and Logan's father and little Clementine too.As one of my favorite authors, Kim Karr brings me through all of the emotions and Crush was the perfect ending. So many elements in this will make me want to reread it again and again. After the ending of Blow I needed Crush ASAP. I needed to see where Elle and Logan's story went and who was behind everything going on.Crush starts up right where Blow ended, and Logan is doing everything he can to keep Elle safe, even if that means leaving her to protect her. Throughout this story we really get to see how truly in love Logan and Elle have fallen, and everything they would do to keep each other safe.There is so much that happens in this book, that it makes everything we went through in Blow seem like small potatoes. This is a story that is extremely fast paced, and very detailed. I was on pins and needles trying to figure out who was behind everything that was happening to Elle, her sister, and Logan. Every time I thought I figured out who was behind it, I was thrown for another loop and to say I was shocked when it all came out is an understatement.Not only is this book full of suspense and twists and turns, we also get to see Logan and Elle work through their relationship. Their time alone always happened in a part of the book that you needed a break from all the WTF moments, and was perfect and extremely sexy. These two belong to one another, and I loved seeing them move their relationship forward. Things were not easy for them, but I loved how things turned out for Logan and Elle. The epilogue of this book was unlike anything else in the book, and gave me the warm and fuzzies, which is not how rest of the book was!So much happens in this book that I just can't write about because it would majorly spoil the story for anyone who has yet to read it. I will say though, I laughed, I cried, I was angry, and I was thrown for so many loops while reading Crush, and I loved each and every minute of it. This duet is a beautifully written romantic suspense that is perfect for anyone looking for something different to read.
