Make sure your clamp fits.) *by A***Y on April 23, 2025* Triplett, and Simpson are two hallowed names in electrical and electronic test equipment. I owned a Triplett V.O.M. back in the early 1960's, and Triplett was already a nearly 60 year old company at that time. The company was founded in 1904 by Charles E. Triplett. I still own, and occasionally use, a Simpson 260GP meter from that era, along with some Triplett panel meters that were made during World War II. Both companies products were always unusually well made and engineered. This line splitter carries on the tradition. It offers great value as well as it offers a GFCI tester along with checking receptacle wiring, for just a few dollars more than a plain no-name line splitter of questionable virtue. This one also has all the approvals and certifications.. The built-in outlet is in fact an actual discrete part, not simply prongs molded into the plastic case with wires soldered on as found in some of the no-name products I've seen. Subjectively, the Triplett ET200 feels really solid, and feels very comfortable when held in one's hand. It is a pleasure to use. A number of reviewers have commented that the 1X hole is too small. That may be, as this line splitter is marketed for use with Triplett products. However, I can confirm that it will at least fit the following non-Triplett models: Klein CL220 Amprobe RS-3 Ultra (The classic clamp-on ammeter!)
