Review: GREAT paper for fountain pens. - I use this paper to make custom inserts and note pads for my Midori Traveler's Notebook. I make calendars, lined paper, dot grid, and graph. It has a coating on it that prevents bleed-through and ghosting of fountain pens. It has a great feel as well. It feeds through my laser printer with no problem, although there is an occasional creased page when printing both sides, I would say this is less than 5% of the time. At 64 gsm this paper is thinner than "typical" copy paper, which means in space-conscious applications like portable notebooks it works well where you can get more pages into the same thickness. The thinness doesn't feel like "cheapness" at all. I would call the color of this paper "cream". It is a pleasing color, but definitely not white. Overall, I couldn't be happier with this paper.

Update: the workaround for shoddy packaging is to order *two* reams. Too big and heavy for a paper bag, so they’ll come in a box. **Q: Has anyone tried watercolor on this paper? Does it hold up as well to it as Tomoe River?**
A: I bought this paper mainly because it handles fountain ink extremely well and is still fairly light weight without costing as much as Tomoe River. I still prefer the smoothness of TR but this paper is my second choice.
When I saw this question I pulled out a sheet and tried watercolor.  I was amazed at how well it can handle it. Colors blend well and I used a lot of watercolor to see if the paper could take it and it did. I got absolutely no bled through to the other side which I sometimes get in Tomoe River paper. The crinkles don’t feel the same as Tomoe River but I’m sure the weight of this paper is part of the reason for that.

**Q: Reviews say it's not as good as tomoe river. but will it still give nice sheen and shading? i'd like affordable fp paper that still highlights shading**
A: It's much heavier than Tomoe River, and not as smooth. The sheening is great (OS Walden Pond). It's absorbent enough that the shading is only adequate (Diamine Autumn Oak). Because it's heavier than Tomoe River there is much less ghosting (almost none) and no bleed-through at all. Come over to the Goulet Nation Facebook Group, ask the same questions and I can show you photos. The only thing I would recommend more is if you can find a reasonably priced 32 lb (120 gsm) laser printer paper.

**Q: Some say this is is very smooth paper and some say it's rough. Which is correct?**
A: I wouldn’t call it rough by any means. I wouldn’t call it especially smooth, but I’d say it is as smooth as conventional copy paper (albeit higher quality).

This paper is perfect for fountain pens. I tried like 20 inks from very dry ones to very wet ones. All perform perfectly on this paper. No bleeding, no feathering, no through, just nothing. Everything is perfect. Actually I already bought twice in 4 months. Perfect performance with a great price. I use however I want to without worrying about my wallet. THE PAPER every fountain pen user should have.
