Even using a drill with wire brush seemed useless. Decided to get some new grates. These were a perfect fit for my Weber, looked like they were an exact replacement except, they were new and looked great! After studying cleaning grills, I also found a product that works well and I try to do after every grilling session now to avoid stuff caking onto the grates. The product is stainless steel scrubbers and they work well and a little better than a grill brush. Found them at Walmart.
