So we order up the giant box of plates that wont stack in the cupboard because there are too many, and the boxes of plastic silverware, and the blue matching cups and we lay it all out with the tissue-thin Dixie (but just-sufficient-enough for an attempt at cleanliness) napkins and we break out the $40 electric knife and zip through the turkey and pass around the $150 corning-ware dishes and the silver coated utensils that dip in and out of potatoes, green bean casseroles, and stuffing. And she smiles and says it was fun and fantastic, and the clean up, oh the clean up! While all the trash is taken out at the end of the night, filled to the brim with paper and plastic. At the bottom of the white bag, there's the turkey carcass bouncing, hoisted up into the air, told goodnight, and let free into the garbage can.
