Review: Brown sugar canister works well. - I already had the brown sugar in a smaller canister so I just soaked the little disk and put it in there directly on the sugar. I was amazed how it soften the sugar. It did turn some white because it was molasses that made it brown. I will see how it is when I put it in the new container and have the disk in the lid.

**Q: What is the difference between the Progressive pro-keeper brown sugar one, and the one that doesn't say Pro-keeper?**
A: I am not sure I know what the non-progressive is but keeping moisture in the progressive one is what keeps the sugar from turning hard. Maybe the non-progressive doesn't have that disk in it? Of course, you could just put a piece of bread in the sugar container you already have and it will soften the sugar

**Q: is there a replacement terra cotta disk for the brown sugar keeper?**
A: You can find terra-cotta discs right here on Amazon. Search for “brown sugar keeper”.

**Q: Why is this listed as 12.99 but it’s actually over 20 bucks?**
A: Probably taxes and shipping applied to cost from your states tax reqirements.

**Q: Can you store anything else in here besides brown sugar?**
A: Your brown sugar stays fresh thanks to the airtight seal of this container. Wet the included terra-cotta disk and drop it directly into the sugar to keep it moist.  Of course, if it's your container, you should store whatever you wish.  Thanks for asking.

I live at nearly 8000 feet above sea level in the Rockies where the humidity is generally around 20%. Normally stored brown sugar is beyond hard. This works perfectly to keep it soft and usable. I particularly like the fact that the terra-cotta disc snaps into the lid so it's not down in the sugar itself, and that the combination of seal and snap closure keep the humidity in.
