Beautiful scenery but a nightmare for receiving over-the-air signals. Digital signals are quite susceptible to degradation from many sources. Despite being 5 or 6 miles from the TV towers, reception is not as good as one would expect because of the second thing I discovered.The second thing I found in my experience is that today's sets have mediocre tuners to receive digital signals. They require a good deal of assistance to receive channels well. So, finding a good outdoor antenna is a necessity in my circumstances, especially if you don't subscribe to a cable or satellite service.This antenna has been the one that has made over-the-air HDTV reception more reliable. The antenna does have to be tweaked a bit to find the best overall configuration angle and direction, but it's a simple process. Yes, there is still the loss of signal and picture breakup on occasion, but reception as been overall quite good and far superior to the other outdoor antenna I was previously using.The in-line AC signal amp provided no additional benefit and did degrade reception. This is most likely due to proximity to the towers causing signal overload. But the amp is optional and not needed in my situation.In summary, very pleased with this antenna's performance and well worth the money and a 5-star rating. ### ⭐⭐ This product worked great for about two weeks *by K***. on April 2, 2017* This product worked great for about two weeks, pulling in ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, and about 15 other channels crystal clear. Then the signal quality deteriorated massively. We get none of the major network channels any more, just a couple of PBS stations and a few smaller stations. Not sure what happened. I've checked the cables, checked for signs of damage on the unit itself, and there's no indication that anything should be wrong. I would love to solve this problem with this or another antenna. We are 37 miles from the broadcast towers; I was really hoping this product would do the trick. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Marginal at best...but seller sent a replacement that worked much better *by O***C on March 2, 2017* After waiting for this back-ordered antenna, the one I got was an obvious return - scuffed, scratched and dirty stuffed back in the box. Saying that these have a range of 60 miles is a huge stretch, and is definitely NOT omni-directional. This one was replacing an inexpensive flat panel unit that I had hanging in the front window. I purchased this unit because it is one of the few exterior units that can be side-wall mounted and comes with a decent mounting bracket. I am only 12 miles from the local TV "antenna farm" and the terrain is extremely flat. There are no buildings or trees to interfere with the sight lines and yet the antenna took a fair amount of adjusting the mounting angle/direction to get most (but not all) of the stations that the inexpensive flat panel has been pulling in fine for the past year or so. These units are also sensitive to wind, rain and snow (it is snowing right now, and the weaker stations are cutting in and out). Not happy with this purchase, but it will do until I can find a better unit to replace it. The main positive is getting that flat panel out of the window.Followup: Manufacturer stands behind their products. Since they could not get the original model replaced, they substituted one of their other models that works much better and pulls in all the local stations with the exception of two "fringe" HD stations (must be the design of their antennas, because the Winegard indoor flat panel pulled in both of them - not a big issue since they appear to be duplicate HD versions of other stations that I am now getting). Saving $130 per month by cancelling Comcast Cable never gets old. I will be interested to see how this new design handles bad weather (has already gone thru a thunderstorm with no issues). I am using this without the amplifier and did not have to fool around aiming this like the flat design. Thanks 1byone for working with me on this.
