The charger cost well over $100 so it was worth repairing rather than sending it to the landfill as so much fodder. I did need to use the original connector to attach it to the board, but easy enough to do. I soldered the wires and added shrink tube for a pro level repair, but it could have been done with a quick twist and small wire nuts or electrical tape.
