Having never worn an ascot before, I have nothing to compare it to, but I did find it very comfortable, easy to tie, and non-itchy. I even forgot I was wearing it. The material is just stiff enough to look great and won’t go limp even after hours of wearing. I got the “pink” one, which is actually a beautiful lilac color. And it looks great with green eyes.
