Everything We Wanted in a Coffee Maker
My husband wanted to get a 12-cup coffee maker for when we have company. Given that we’re still in the dregs of a global pandemic, we almost never have company and we do have a 5-cup coffee maker, so I thought it was kind of unnecessary but my husband is the one who makes coffee when we have company, so his opinion mattered more here.Well, he had three parameters: cost under $XX, was easy to use (he wanted to press one button for coffee), and that it made 12 cups of coffee. He chose one but it looked cheap and had horrible reviews, so I took over the search. My parameters: stainless steel, conical drip, and great reviews.I went to Consumer Reports and checked out their list of coffee makers and pretty much if I wanted a coffee maker that met all of our parameters, we would have to spend 2-3 times what my husband said he wanted to spend. There were many stainless steel coffee makers priced at or around $XX, but they tended to have flat brew baskets not conical ones, and conical brewers produce better coffee (IMO). This belief was reflected in the reviews, which tended to bemoan the inferior quality of the coffee (or included the adage “you get what you pay for”).Then, I came across this coffee maker. It checked every box and had great reviews. There was one review that said everything tasted like plastic, and I have absolutely no idea what they did but the instructions do very clearly state that you need to run water through the machine SEVERAL times before brewing. I ran water through five times, and the coffee tasted great—there was no grease on the top of the coffee and no grinds in the coffee. The programming function was easy and worked well. The carafe does not drip—was easy to fill up the water reservoir without spilling water. The coffee drips nicely into the carafe (no issues with the carafe being slightly out of place resulting in liquid going everywhere). The machine is sturdy and it looks nice—the plastic is thick, the stainless steel is brushed and easily kept clean, and the carafe is solid enough to withstand accidentally banging it onto the counter (oops). It also has a small footprint and fits nicely under our cabinets. We have owned more expensive coffee makers that CR rates highly. This is easily as nice as coffee makers twice its price, if not nicer. Heck, our five-cup coffee maker cost three times what this one did, and I cannot tell the difference between coffee brewed in it and brewed in this.In short, 10/10, would buy again.

Works well, some design flaws
The media could not be loaded. I wonder why they decided to use two dents as part of the design at the top when it clearly makes it look like the unit is damaged/dented. It's off-putting on an otherwise beautiful looking machine. Also the finishing around the heat pan is not clean. Lots of broken plastic and/or paint that was easily chipped off. When wiping it off it scratched the plastic finish. A hair could scratch it! Lastly it's very difficult to pour the last of the liquid out of the carafe unless you turn it past vertical. However, no dripping from the spout when pouring, which I think is more important than getting the last bits of, but just thought I would mentionOther than that, the machine brewed quickly for the amount it can make. The parts fit tightly, and it doesn't look cheap. Fair for the price

So far it’s a keeper
We order La Colombe coffee, we want the coffee strong, we usually make 10 cups at a time and want it hot but we don’t want to burn our tongue. There is such a range of prices for coffee makers. Over past 15 years together my husband and I have had probably 5 or 6 coffee makers including most expensive which died after warranty. We don’t need a thousand bells and whistles just something that works. We just tried a midrange 14 cup popular brand before this one, and we had a lot of grinds in our coffee which made absolutely no sense - we followed instructions, used the provided gold filter (tried the paper one), made the grinds bigger, didn’t overfill amount of coffee. Anyway this coffee maker is smaller/shorter which is nice under cabinet, the filter basket is taller so the filter with ground coffee beans are not too close to water spray - we’ve had no grinds in coffee, the stainless on appliance looks normal not cheap, it’s a normal feeling glass carafe not too thin, we’re fine with 2 hour shut off even though my hubby would prefer it a little longer, I like that extra cord can go inside of appliance, not too many buttons/common sense programming without having to read instructions. Mostly, no grinds and coffee tastes great. We only use spring water. We only brew on bold. Highly recommend, hoping it lasts past warranty.

Makes superior tasting hot coffee
Mueller coffee maker arrived in excellent condition. Instructions for set up were simple and straightforward. Mueller recommends running six pots of water through the system before actual use to eliminate plastic flavor. It you do this, the results are really terrific - especially if you grind the coffee beans just prior to use. This machine replaced an old, leaking Krupps pot and produces better coffee. The temperature is perfect, the flavor is cleaner and fresher, and the non-paper filter works very well. I gave this coffee maker 5 stars because of the quality of the coffee it produces at a reasonable cost. What it lacks for me is a removable water tank that would greatly facilitate cleaning, an insulated metal coffee pot as an option and an easier way to pour water into the tank. These are minor drawbacks considering the quality of the coffee it makes and the price.

Durable and makes a great cup-o-joe
Aside from my wife bashing the carafe into the counter and shattering it to a million pieces the day after I purchased it, this coffee maker has be outstanding. Believe it or not, good drip coffee makers are difficult to find. I had been on the hunt for a quality coffee maker for years and finally found one. I have been though many low quality, low performing, over priced makers, which seemed to be the industry's M.O., but this one broke the mold. So happy with this one almost 5 years later and I will stay with Mueller for my next one as time comes.

still going after 5 years
I bought this coffee maker several years ago and it is still making hot coffee. It has outlasted every coffee maker I have ever owned. I bought another one a few months ago to use as a backup if this one ever quits working (can't go without coffee) but so far it's still going. I highly recommend this product
