It clamped well to the desk and seems reasonably secure so far. I didn’t have to overtighten in. Keep in mine you need a good solid surface to clamp to though. If your desk doesn’t have a good sized lip don’t get this thing.The two biggest problems I have with this lamp are the light quality and the remote control.The remote is a little odd, being a hockey puck that basically only has one button. A combination of twist and push would be nice. Adjust brightness with a dial and turn on/off and toggle between light color with the button. But you can make it work. A single press turns it on. A second press quickly changes the light mode. If you wait more than a couple seconds between presses the next press turns it off. Long press and hold will either brighten or dim the light. It will go all the way up and then stop, then you hold it again to get it go back down. You just release it when it reaches the desired light level. It’s not very precise, but again, it works.The big problem with the remote is that it seems to be very weak. It can’t handle the signal interference of my two monitors being turned on.The lamp is clamped to the back of the desk with the arm coming up over the top of the monitors. If they’re off, the button works perfectly every single time. If The monitors are on, I press the button 5 times and it maybe works once. That’s a disappointment.The other complaint I have is the poor diffuser over the LEDs. If you have this thing tilted even slightly toward your eyes it’s going to be a very bright spot in your vision. I think I can fix this myself with a piece of frosted plastic sheeting over the lights, but I really didn’t want to have to modify this thing. The plastic covering the LEDs isn’t really a diffuser at all, it’s more like a slightly opaque piece of clear plastic. This does little to actually spread out the light. You can clearly see every single LED whether they’re turned on or off.I personally wanted to use this light intentionally tilted a bit toward my face to serve as a front light while I’m on video conferences. It’s not really going to work for that unless I up the diffusion quite a bit.Even for normal use having it point straight down it would be nice if it diffused better so that the lighted area covered more of my desk. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good quality and is bright. *by N***E on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on June 4, 2021* I really like this light. I have a small desk and the lamp I had took up a lot of the counter space. This totally solved that issue. I also use it for art and I need lighting that isn’t too warm or cool so with this having the options to change the light temp it worked out great. My only complaint is that if you have the light angled a certain way the top will slowly fall downwards, however I bought mine used so this could be why but it’s not enough of a problem that I want to return it. I do recommend this lamp. ### ⭐ Very disappointed. I am very disappointed in this product. The description says "tall" but it is not. The LED's are as bright as my other clamp-on light and brighter than my desktop models, but there is no opaque covering over them (or, it is not as opaque as others) to disperse the light, so if you happen to look directly at the LED's or get them in the corner of your eye, there is a lot of glare.I really wanted a TALL light that would go over my 27" monitors that are on a stand. This one does not do that. At least my flexible neck clamp-on light has more versatility in positioning. This light is two straight inflexible rods with a hinge between them. You can turn the rod connected to the base clamp 90 degrees in either direction, but not 180 degrees to face the opposite direction of the clamp.The control button is weird. Both brightness and color, as well as on-off are all handled with one touch sensitive button on the side. Too many functions on one button, that if you even just touch it to know where it is, triggers a function. Brightness change is a ramp-up or ramp-down type, where you let go of the button when it's where you want the brightness to be. The lamp comes with a funky remote that's like a hokey puck and you press on the top of it. It is plastic and feels like junk.This lamp was more expansive than most of the other similar ones, so I figured it would be higher quality. It is not. It is plastic. The others I've used are made of higher quality materials.I'm very disappointed in this light. I will be returning it.PROS: It makes light. It is fairly bright.CONS: Poor quality materials and build. Not very flexible in positioning. Cover over LED's does not do much to mitigate their harshness. Control button (only one for all functions) is finicky to use at best.
