Someone said it is only 3.6 inches wide, but how long? Obviously not 13.4" as stated in product details** A: I don't have it handy but it is the same dimension as any standard drywall sander. The precut sandpiper fits it just fine. I really like this sander. I was concerned about some of the comments but am glad I tried it anyway **Q: How is the sandpaper attached to the sander?** A: If I recall, the the wire clamps lift up from the front and the sandpaper ends are placed under them. I also remember it took a lot of strength to lift the clamps, but it holds securely. **Q: can this be used to sand painted wood?** A: This unit holds sandpaper. The only way to prevent it is to have very light pressure but then the unit does not do much sanding. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Practice *by J***E on February 6, 2020* I have been a professional drywall sander for 30 years now. Yes I do the job no one wants to do. These pole heads are good. They use to be great back in the days. They were made from better materials (fiberglass) and would last for years. Problem for Allway was that they weren't selling to many of them. Now they make them out of plastic that wears out quicker. There sales went up. The metal clips you have to take them off. Put the bend part of the clip which there is 2 of them in a bench vise. Take a pair of pliers and bend them just a tad more. The reason why the pole head fips is because of the operator, not the the tool. When pole sanding pay attention to your wrists turning. You turning your wrists causes the pole and sanding head to turn also. To much turning causes the pole head to flip.
