## Description

The voluminous form of this wonderful piece, a reproduction of the great 12th century Goryeo porcelain, came from the Maebyeong (Prunus Vase) style from the Sung Dynasty in China. By the time this vase was made, however, Goryeo (918-1392) had already established its own style characterized by a more expansive form and elegantly-curved lines. An increasingly-important achievement of Goryeo porcelain ware in the world's ceramics history is the introduction of the inlaying technique to the art of pottery. In this porcelain vase, whose form, size and luxuriousness make it one of the greatest masterpieces of its kind, the pattern of white cranes and clouds is exquisitely inlaid into the surface of the jade-blue body. Korean celadon pottery is renowned the world over for its exquisite inlaid designs, voluminous form, elegantly-curved lines and mysterious color, the color of the sky after a rainstorm during an autumn afternoon.

Review: exactly as photo -- beautiful and shiny - the seller sends from Korea, carefully packaged -- tons of bubble wrap and within a few weeks of order. product was as described correctly and as pictured and is beautiful. make sure to read the measurements as in my mind, i expected the product to be bigger but the dimensions were accurate, i just did not register that it would be a little smaller than expected (again, dimensions were accurate, so it was my false expectation). arrived in perfect condition due to the careful wrapping. yes, i would order again from the sellers but they don't have the size that i want for this same style, design and color -- i would like the same vase but bigger, let's say and they don't have that
Review: Exceeded All Our Expectations. Very Beautifully Made. - Ordered this vase to replace one some Korean friends gave us as a wedding present almost 20 years ago. The vase arrived two weeks earlier than promised and was very carefully packed. Also it came in the traditional wooden Korean storage box. The photos do not do this vase justice: it is extremely beautiful. Saved us a trip to Korea to get a replacement (and I am not sure if I could find one this nice).

The celedaon ceramic is beautiful. It took some time to get here. It ships from Gangnam, South Korea and is very well packaged and arrived in excellent condition. The swirl of fish are raised so it has an interesting texture.
