The lace on the top is very pretty. There is elastic sewn into the lace on the top of each stocking to keep it up and I have found that they stay all day and don't fall down like others do. They stretch out a little throughout the day, but not too bad and still look nice. The stocking material is very thin and i worry about it not lasting and tearing easy. I haven't torn them so far, but we'll see how they hold up.
