Should either come with no lock and save a few bucks, or preferably come with a decent lock and charge the difference with a few extra dollars for the effort. The hole is not large enough for a decent lock, just have to drill it out a bit. The point is if you are providing a premium product then package it with a comparable lock. Your product is as strong as the weakest link...

The product looks as though it will work ( I haven't tested it) but the welds are messy. The product I received (as pictured) has some scattered "bubbles" but more importantly, it also has a piece of mig wire still attached to one weld almost half an inch long which is strong enough to pierce your skin. This is ridiculous, and could have VERY EASILY been taken care of. What the hell?Instead, it was painted as it was. I'm sure the welds are strong enough, but much of the quality is worse than whats made in china. Cmon dude, wtf?

The seller, Karl, contacted me to verify the size & type of coupler before sending out the lock. Unfortunately, the lock did not fit and slipped off of the coupler when locked. I contacted the seller, and he quickly sent out a lock that fit great. Karl was very helpful & prompt with exchanging emails. Delivery was quick. The part of the lock that goes around the coupler is very solid, and easy to use. There is nothing to fail or break on the part that goes around the coupler, unlike most of the other coupler locks with integrated locking mechanisms. You get a basic disc lock to lock up the whole thing, which you can change/upgrade, if you feel the need.

Purchased another brand prior to this... Don't waste your money on the other stuff. This is the real deal. Locks up tight and it looks like it can withstand a significant attack before it is defeated. I was able to lock my safety chains up in the upper corners as well. It probably won't deter a determined criminal but it will slow them down and make the neighbors trailer a lot more attractive!

ok but not for me

The hinged (entire red body) portion of this locking mechanism is fantastic! The cheap lock that comes with it to secure the clasp, no offense to the seller, but it leaves a lot to be desired. Get yourself a solid combination lock with an 8mm (5/16) shackle shaft diameter. I leave my trailer on an unattended lot, and this, in conjunction with the other security features I use, will help ensure my trailer is where I left it upon my return.

Put this crap on my trailer, 1 month later my trailer was stolen along with other items I had all totaling more than $5000. The trailer was used to haul the items off. DO NOT BUY!

Ordered this product and I couldn't get it to fit, contacted seller he had me send a picture of my hitch and realized my hitch needed the smaller ball. Product is great, well built and worth the price. I did replace the lock for one more secure. Great product and seller
