Eventually we decided to settle on a consistent, repeatable brand that we could get easily. Lavazza is that brand. Whilst not always the last word in character, it's easy-drinking coffee that's inexpensive and - to my non-coffee nerd tastes - results in a very tasty flat white or similar. For example, I bought my current batch on 3 December 2019 and the best before date is 30 September 2021 so that's a 21 months minimum shelf life as the product will have been roasted and packaged before 3 December 2019.
