leather scabbard only, no sword included

Reasonably good, but not quite worth $300
I was a bit disappointed by the overall quality of this sheath (both metal and leather workings). For the asking price ($298), I expected a higher quality in both design and fabrication. As has been pointed out previously, this sheath will not permit the 2nd iteration HBO-authorised Damascus 'LongClaw' (King in the North, total of pieces produced) to be hung on the shield-mount the sword comes with, since the two pegs that hold the sword are not wide enough to accommodate the sword in its sheath (only the sword with its blade exposed, unsheathed). HBO should have assured that the sheathed sword would fit its complementary shield wall-mount. That said, since high-cabon steel does not take well to being enclosed in tanned leather for long periods without scrupulous oiling and corrosion control measures being taken, perhaps it is all to the good anyway. I have hung the sheath alongside the sword and as such it makes a reasonably nice display piece. But getting back to the sheath itself, while the sheath and its metal/leather parts look well enough at first glance, closer examination reveals that fact that it is not of the absolute highest quality or fabrication. Since the asking price of $298 is rather steep for a copy of a fictitious sword's equally fictitious sheath (i.e. movie prop), it isn't unreasonable to expect slightly better craftsmanship (on the sheath). One wonders how long such a sheath would last if subjected to only a fraction of the hazards Jon Snow is subjected to in the HBO series! However, I tend to be somewhat overly critical by nature...perhaps unnecessarily. If you are a typical 'completist' who won't rest easy until you have both the sword (which is rather nice, after all) AND its sheath, don't worry too much about my criticisms. It still displays nicely to remind us all of how brilliant and masterful George R.R. Martin's HBO version of 'Game of Thrones' has been brought to life on the screen. Direwolves, strong-willed women, fascinating swords and knives, and superb individual actor characterisations...does it get any better than this?

Very disappointed with the quality...
This scabbard looks aesthetically pleasing, but that is the only reason I gave this product 2 stars instead of one. The leather is very poor quality when it comes to durability. As seen in the picture, it ripped very easily on the first day I wore it. Didn't even last more than 8 hours of being on my hip, and I was just walking around a Renaissance fair, nothing too strenuous. Luckily I have a durable belt that can replace this because it won't even be worth the time to send this back and take the risk of a new one ripping on me.

Great product
Am I a fool to think this was forged with actual valerian steal? Maybe. Maybe not.But I was made a fool during a recent duel when I touted my valerian steal beauty would vanquish my opponent. He, carrying the dragon forged iron, mercilessly whipped me into the peasant that I am.I’m now headless, honor-less, and hopeless.

Poor quality
I accidentally clicked on this to buy it with the “one click” feature. As soon as I got the email confirmation, I wrote back explaining I didn’t want it and they said, “we will try, but no guarantees”. Now I have this thing and almost $300 gone.
