I ordered the gold ones to go on a dance costume I am making. When I first got them, they looked like the picture where some are gold and some are blue, which was initially rather concerning. However, opening them up, I discovered that one side was gold and the other was blue. I also read that they have protective films on them, so I looked to see if that was what the blue was. It was, and underneath was a nice shiny silver mirror. It was great, except the gold side was still somewhat dull, and the point was for the pieces to be gold and shiny. I started sewing them on anyway, since I thought they still were adequately shiny on the gold side. Something told me that the gold side might have films on them too, although they must be clear. The films can be a bit hard to get off until you get a corner up, so it was really hard to tell if there was a film I was trying to get at or not. However, eventually I got a corner up and it turns out they were nice shiny gold pieces like I initially wanted. I was able to successfully pull the film off the piece I had already sewed on without taking it off; I just snipped the film around the hole area.So, all in all, they are exactly what I wanted, with a fun secret silver side on the back. They just provided me with a bit of emotional distress along the way. By the way, you can tell if there's still the film on if it's not shiny and the piece feels a little softer and slightly rubberier. My package also came with an extra 5 pieces, which was nice in case my math was bad or if one looks damaged (although my math was correct and they all look great so far after taking the films off).In terms of quality, they are just plastic pieces. Some look like they may have very minor defects, but that may also just be the films that are still on them, and nothing that would make them unusable. They're pretty lightweight, given that they're plastic (not heavy like metal). They are nice and shiny, and the mirrors are clear enough on both sides that I could probably use them to do my makeup in if I am really determined, with only the size stopping me. They're not sparkly like rhinestones, but they reflect light as well as any other mirror.I would definitely buy these again an recommended them to others.
