It was a hard plastic that was cold or if it was warm outside my arm sweated & stuck to it. This can be cut to any length, placed on the arm under the splint. I actually used 2 pieces since my splint went over 2 fingers. I sliced it up most the one side so it circled the fingers & laid on my arm. Then I cut another piece the right length & just sliced across a little to make room for my thumb. It was comfortable, splint was no longer cold. It is cheap enough that it could be replaced as it got dirty. Nothing sticky like tape.
