I was told by the funeral home that they normally inscribe a metal plate and hang it over the urn with a chain. That's what we will do. **Q: Is the inside coated/painted?** A: no it is cast aluminum no coating on inside, but very well made **Q: is this urn suitable/legal for burial?** A: I don’t see why not. But I don’t know the rules in every state. **Q: Is this made of brass ?** A: I’m not sure the exact material but it is heavy and I’d coated inside with a sealant. The lid fit on tight.
