### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A must have!

*****UPDATED: to add in a good amount of people don’t understand there are 8 set screws. 4 to adjust concentricity. Everyone should be fully aware of these. ******Now the other 4 are for adjusting the dial to zero. It is only needed usually after a broken tip and or improper storage. This is very very simple to adjust I have heard terrible reviews of people claiming theirs is broke. That they paid to send it to Germany to Haimer to repair. This is obsurd.., it takes 2 minutes and is much easier than the concentricity to adjust and you don’t even need an indicator. The concentricity screws are facing outward in the Xy plane via a vertical mill The dial adjustment is in the z plane vertically they are behind the dial face. ( in the shape of an x) I believe they all use the same 2mm Allen key. **** another tip is these keys are easy to round and it makes calibrating harder. So I use a cut off wheel and cut off the small rounded off part and wire brush and it works like new. I have done this 2 times now. Simply a must have! The haimer is engineered perfectly and this is crucial to it working soo goo. The pink part if the probe is ceramic! It is designed to break at a certain amount of force. This is all to protect the expensive sensor! That is exactly what it does. When changing tips you must check concentricity, and to do so simply put tool in holder in spindle. Then put your mag base on table with a indicator in it. Adjust the 4 set srews until runout is within .001", then change to a higher res indicator preferably a .0001" or .002mm . Now u must adjust it to within .0001"! That last part is a bit tricky as u have to get the screws to tighten at the right time. Once done right it is no joke as accurate as the .0001" jog increments of the cnc machine. To test take a 1-2-3 block in vise. Zero out on one end in the x axis. Set zero on cnc. Then zero on the other side and read cnc position. It is almost always dead on the .0001". That is unreal aside from a reinshaw probe this is the most accurate way to do a setup and it is much faster than a edge finder. If you do use a edge finder use a starrett they are the only ones ive used repeatable to .0003". My only complaint is u have to calibrate every time u setup in a holder unless u happen to have a bunch of perfec holder that have zero runout. Likely not... so i keep it in my holder always! The issue here is we use taper 40 and taper 50 so i only use it on taper 50. Then the starrett edge finder in the taper 40. It would take too long to setup and calibrate every time. I will test it though to swap between 2 holder if i find 2 that can swap with repeatability that it needs no calibration. Its a long shot but would be ideal otherwise i could always buy another 3d taster..
