A: Tools as in screwdriver? (Yes) screwing by hand/fingers (no) :)

**Q: What does #8 mean?**
A: #8 identifies the diameter of the screw (also known as the gauge). In this case 0.1640". In the US, screws with a diameter less than 1/4" have a gauge number assigned. 1/4" and larger screws are identified by the diameter in inches.

**Q: i am turning the screw and it is pulling out of the drywall how do I stop this from destroying the wall.  the screws seem to be to tight**
A: I haven't had that problem. Perhaps it's a defective anchor. Otherwise, I'd suggest using the next small diameter screw.

**Q: can you cut these to make them shorter I have a need for anchors that short around 1/2 inch?**
A: Unless the anchor will somehow be exposed on the backside you shouldn't have to cut them down. I used them on both 1/2" and 5/8" drywall.

This is far superior to the traditional cheap plastic wall anchors that you have to drill first. Because these are self-drilling and made from somewhat dull plastic, they require quite a lot of force against the wall to begin penetrating it. Once started, it’s a bit easier, but still requires decent torque to get the anchor fully screwed in. It is much easier with an electric screwdriver, but I’d avoid using a drill with screw bit — too much torque could break the tip off or cause lopsided insertion.
