My goal is to get the temperature up to 700F in which case it will be on the lower end of this range. **Q: Do you think this could fit on the new Kamado kettle? And the rotisserie rod extends about 3 inches to the motor and on the other side, if you include the handle, about 5 inches...so I would put the rod at 30" to 31" And yes, the entire assembly is easily removed. Well made and sturdy apart from the handles that needed modifying to have a better fit and improve sturdiness. Manufacturer needs to modify these to give a better fit. Damage to the body could easily happen if the nuts were tightened without adding wedged packers.
