I purchased it as a replacement for for the dead one in my XClio WindTunnel case. The original was variable speed and it was silent at lower speeds. This one is not an exact replacement and the XClio "Amazing Fan" is no longer available. This new Rexflo isn't particularly loud, but it is by no means silent.
