A: I just measured mine and it extends to 35 inches.

**Q: Will this hold 8x10 canvases?**
A: Yes. It’s fully adjustable to handle an 8x10.

**Q: Are the paints oil or water based?**
A: Acrylic, so water based. I do not recommend this easel. Ours came broken and they would not refund us for a return.

Very easy to set up and take down. High quality and sturdy. A lot of adjustment options to change the height of the canvas or the easel. The drawer is very convenient and large. I like this easel but it’s a little tedious to set up when I just want to start painting quickly. I like the compartments, the height and maneuverability of it. Just wish it didn’t take so many steps set it up.
